Our Origins date back to 1922 when our patriarch played a key role in creating the master plan
for 550 acres of the suburb of Mulund. The company was formally established by Ramniklal Shah
in 1969, and has come a long way developing residential, commerical, retail, mixed and township
projects in the greater Mumbai area.

Mayur Shah,

Mayur R. Shah is a seasoned real estate leader, structural engineer and urban development strategist with over 37 years of experience. He has played a pivotal role in Marathon Group’s growth across residential, commercial, township and urban renewal developments and was among the early developers to enter Panvel’s township market and mill land redevelopment in Lower Parel.
Beyond Marathon, Mr. Shah has been actively involved in community welfare, including rehabilitation efforts after the 1993 Latur and 2001 Bhuj earthquakes, support for women empowerment programs through Mahila Gruha Udyog Lijjat Papad.
He has also championed healthcare access through charitable clinics and blood donation drives and supported student loan initiatives and educational institutions such as NEXT School in Mulund, where he serves as a trustee.
He is a former President of CREDAI-MCHI and remains an influential industry voice, with active involvement in organizations such as Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) and the Jain Jagruti Centre.

Chetan R. Shah brings over three decades of leadership and technical expertise to Marathon Group. A structural engineer by training, he has played a key role in shaping the company’s growth across planning, execution, operations and finance, helping build Marathon’s reputation for engineering-led development and disciplined execution.
Beyond Marathon, he has also been actively involved in social welfare initiatives and has served as President of the Lions Club, reflecting the values of responsibility and social impact that continue to shape the Group’s ethos.

R.Z. Shah founded Marathon in 1969. He started the company as a social enterprise and most of his initial undertakings were on a not-for-profit basis. He has been deeply involved with the community and has served as the President of the Rotary Club (Mulund), Jain Sangh and SMPR High School.

Parmeet M. Shah plays a key role in Marathon Group’s design and affordable housing verticals. With academic training in economics and real estate from Yale University and Columbia University, he brings a strong strategic and design-led perspective to the business. He leads Marathon’s in-house design team and has helped drive innovation and efficiency across projects. He is also the Founder and CEO of NEXT School.
In addition to his professional and educational leadership, Mr. Shah is the author of the book The Purpose of Life, further reflecting his interest in thought leadership and personal growth.

He has been instrumental in driving NeoHomes, Marathon’s slum rehabilitation and redevelopment initiative in Bhandup, focused on creating quality housing and enabling inclusive urban renewal. He has also contributed to the execution of several key projects across the Mumbai region, including developments in Mulund, Dombivli and Badlapur. His technical acumen and execution-focused approach continue to support the Group’s growth across complex and large-scale developments.
